There was no discipline for military crimes; moreover the weapons became outdated as they usually depend on armor clad cavalry. Even the army was not a national army and comprised of various individuals of different sects that led to rivalries in high official rankings creating a further rift. A weak army means inviting other powers to invade a country and that what happened with Mughal, the invasions from Ahmed Shah Abdali and Nadir Shah became deadly for them as not only that defeated Indians but it also uncovered their weaknesses that became a signal for foreign invasions.
