Declaring A Major Advantages

Many colleges are requiring freshman to declaring a major before entering a degree program. There are many advantages and disadvantages to declaring a major before college. While some view declaring a major before a positive choice, other view declaring a major a negative decision.

First, there are several advantages to declaring a major before entering a degree program. For example, students that have declared a major seem more attractive to the colleges for acceptance. If a student is pursuing a degree in and under represented major the school may be more likely to accept you and offer funding and grants. Secondly, freshman that declares a major before hand can show their interest in the school and program by their extracurricular activities.
