#1 Not only was the document that allowed colonists to be free from British rule, but it symbolizes one of the biggest events in American History. To me, the Declaration is divided into sections. The Preamble, the Declaration of Natural Rights, a List of Grievances, the Resolution of Independence by the United States, and last but not least a bunch of signatures. Four parts mainly-excluding the signatures. The Preamble explains why the Continental Congress came together by the agreement of fellow Americans; to declare independence. Unalienable rights are simply rights that cannot be tangibly taken away, because that of which we are born with them. The List of Grievances is exactly what it sounds like. A grievance is much more than a complaint, but an accusation-a protest. Most of the grievances are mainly the convulsions of the Coercive acts or Taxation without Representation. We kept using the word “he”, as in King George, to tell him we want to be independent because were fed up with you. Mainly in this section us Americans are just complaining about all the usurpations the British have done, with their despotic behavior. King George III was the king of Great Britain at that time, and a cruel despot forcing acts of which the constitution eventually made illegal. The Resolution of Independence section formally wraps up our reason we want to separate from Great Britain; in a nutshell.
