Basically, some citizens are clueless as to what their country’s government is plotting. The importance of citizens knowing what their government is doing is shown in Doc C. University students in China has had enough of their government’s secrecy and corruption. Many of the students protested for a democracy. Sadly many have died with up to 3000 people killed by the Chinese government. This event would be known to the world as The Tiananmen Square massacre. This protest shares similarities to how America’s desire for an dependence. From the last paragraph I have talked how taxes hindered the process of America’s greatness. Some of these taxes were placed upon the colony. With or without them knowing that the taxes has been in effect. Most of the taxes were not known. Some Americans suffered from surprise taxes. We are just not perfect and must alter ourselves to become a better person. Doc D speaks of how the Vermont secession movement protested for their federal government to allow its people to abolish or alter the federal government. America as a colony has been burdened by taxes from Great Britain. As part of the Great Britain, the Americans felt they could negotiate with their so called friends about repealing some taxes. In other words altering the government. However Great Britain did not help at all. Taxes that were in place most were not repealed. America had no ability to change its government. Altering of the government is important because if the government was set in stone to what it was in the past.
