In my opinion and my perspective, the United States is upholding the Declaration of Independance pretty well. As far as I could tell, the government tried to abolish was part of our Constitutional Rights. One of them was the 2nd amendment, that states that the people have the right to bear arms. Though the government only thought about changing it, some people will vote to have it removed from the constitution. The Declaration of Independence states that if the people wish to change a right, then so be it.

They have done an OK job of keeping most of the other rights. The government has also done OK in keeping the people from extreme tyranny unlike the Middle East. We have also kept most laws in equality between different races even though
