Stated in the “unanimous” Declaration of the United States of America is the self evident truth that “all men are created equal”. American society has moved towards the ideals outlined within the Declaration that explicitly state the equality of all citizens. There have been multiple movements throughout American history that have ultimately resulted in the modern laws we have today that seek to limit and eliminate racial discrimination. Furthermore, the absence of segregation seen today, when compared to the amount prevalent at the time of the Declaration’s signing, only further reinforces this point.
