Mr. Framton seeming like an oddball already is gullible enough to believe the story from the young girl and does not question any further than he should. At the end of the girls story Framton says, "She has been very interesting," is all he says when the aunt walks in and no further questions arise to the aunt. Deception come naturally to the girl as she seems to have fully covered all aspects of the story leaving no mysterious parts to question on. Framton fully believes the girl and is shocked when the boys return from the hunting trip almost in a ghost like appearance.
