Deception and pretending can be bad things if used in that manner. But a lot of the time it can be used for good. For example if someone thinks they are friends with someone else, but the other person doesn't see it that way through their eyes that other person who isn't sure yet can still act friendly and not be rude and maybe later on their mind may change. Pretending can be used for the greater good it just depends on who is using it and in what situation it is being used in. A lot of the time people do use deception for a wrong reason. As a another example If someone is helping a person out but that other person is just using them for their help. In many ways that is wrong and hurtful to the person that is just trying to help and is a friendly

    Lying and deception is one of the most common sins that we see in law enforcement according to our ethic book. This is one of the sins that can easily be made, and most would see as not a very big sin depending on what an officer is lying about.
