My mother name is Debra Ann Harris- Lazaro, Harris being her maiden name. She was born in Oakland California, on February 21, 1955 to her parents Marie Amaro and George Albert Harris. George served a four year term in the Navy, he witnessed WWII. It was when he was stationed in Oakland that he met Marie. Shortly after meeting, they married in 1945. Her mother worked as a book keeper for various years and worked for a variety of companies and George, her father, after the Navy he worked as a Plummer for 40 years and “a jack of all trades.” She had two older sisters Donna Mae, the oldest who was born in 1950 and Theresa Marie, the second oldest in 1952. Their nuclear family lived in Oakland for five years but after having all three children, her parents decided to move their …show more content…
Till this day, she can still remember the address and home phone number of when she lived there (Address: 2343 Holberock Drive, Concord, CA 94250 Phone: (925) 685-3996) Her parents were very religious and involved in worshiping god, their denomination was catholic, they attended Queen of All Saints Catholic Church. When talking about her family’s religious views, she explained that her mother’s side of the family was Catholic and her father was “agnostic,” but a little while after her parents got married he become a catholic. The catholic religion does features founds, texts, and place of worship, it also consists of ideological beliefs, behavioral practice, and social group identity. Some of their “rites of passage” there are 3 stages in the catholic religion, that include baptism, communion, and conformation. While living in Concord her parents decided on putting Debra and her two sisters in Queen of All Saints Catholic Church, which was also a catholic school, they attended Monday through Friday 8am to 3pm.
