The only way to attain justice between the killer and the victim is by executing the murderer as it allows the society to view the murder committed as a horrendous crime which he or she will be punished for. “An eye to eye" or "Punishment should fit crime" are the most common reasons offered by proponents to support capital punishment (MSU, 2000). Retribution brings closure to the murderer’s crime and guarantees that the murderer will not create more victims. Many crimes are committed and the only impartial punishment is death penalty; any minor punishment would severely alter the society’s perspectives on the government protecting their lives (Mandery, n.d). According to Michigan State University and Death Penalty Information Center, Robert Macy assures the need for retribution in a case that occurred in 1991 in which a mother was forced to watch her baby being murdered in front of her, the mother was then physically harmed and killed (MSU, 2000). This case acted as a practical proof that a murderer should not just lie in prison with food, a bed, and family visits; thus, we can infer that for justice to succeed, killers must be executed.
