People who argue that the death penalty is wrong, whether because they believe it is immoral or that the government should not have that kind of power, are understandable. I believe that it is wrong to kill someone (and hope I will never have to make a choice like that), as well as the fact that the government should not have that kind of power. If Adolf Hitler were still alive, just about everyone in the world would want him dead. Understandable, since he was responsible for the deaths of eleven million Jewish people. But then again, not everyone would be capable of doing, or seeing that happen. I would not want to see that, and I would not want to choose whether he lives or dies, only because life is a wonderful thing, and I do not want to take that from anyone. It would be necessary though, since by doing that we would in some way avenge all those killed in the holocaust.
