I believe that the death penalty needs to be enforced for the simple fact that not everyone can be rehabilitated. A repeat offender will serve his time in prison for the crime he committed and return to society to commit the crime again. Now we all know that the death penalty is not used for petty crimes such as theft or vandalism but is used for murderers, rapist and people who have committed some of the most horrific crimes capable by man. A lot of people will say that some of the people who are being sentenced to death are innocent, but the criminals get a fair trial, they get evaluated to make sure that they are mentally capable of understanding that they have committed a crime.
