    1. Over a hundred people were involved in the production of this film. The entire cast and crew are not given equal credit in most films. The majority of the camera crew and other production workers are not given as much credit for their work as the actors and director/producers, even though they play a huge role in the development and production of the movie. The making of a huge blockbuster like ‘The Departed’ involves the use of an immense crew.…

As the government rallied forces, propaganda undertook a darker tone to contribute to the war effort. In hopes to intensify nationalistic feelings, propaganda posters were published with the purpose to invoke guilt of American citizens. One poster produced by Reynold Brown read “Killing Time Is Killing Men” (Brown). The purpose of the text was to imply that Americans who were not doing anything to contribute to the war effort were to be deemed lazy and killing time. The poster exhibits a man sitting on top of a pile of dead bodies to appeal to citizens to enforce the importance of supporting the war.…

Euthanasia, or death with dignity, is when a third party ends the life of someone else for their own benefit, but, when you throw mental illness into question, it becomes even more of a debatable topic. In the scholarly article, “The Odd Odyssey of ‘Dr. Death’” by G. Borger, Jack Kevorkian was the only doctor who would euthanize a patient diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. This woman had, at most, a year left before living the rest of her life unbearable, meanwhile countless doctors refused to euthanize her because her illness wasn’t considered terminal. After the procedure was done, doctors and political figures tried prosecuting him because they deemed what he had done unorthodox whilst Kevorkian deemed it ethically and morally correct as well…

No clearer is this than in Rob Reiner’s A Few Good Men, bringing the judgement line of a military order and a gradually rationalized act of unethical action to the forefront. Commentary considered by Phillip Zimbardo’s “The Stanford Experiment” and Herbert C. Kelman and V. Lee Hamilton…

Now that I have provided background on Wright and Baldwin’s feud, it’s time to move forward and examine their work. Richard Wright’s short story, “The Man Who Killed A Shadow” shows the reality and truth of a black man’s life and how quickly it can be jeopardized when race and sex are mixed together. The text is overtly political as it points out the unjust situations that a black man faces when seduced by a white woman. This is something that Baldwin would avoid doing. The shadows in the story represent white people in society.…
