The quote I was assigned to research was said by Willy Loman, “The man knew what he wanted and went out and got it! Walked into a jungle and comes out, the age of twenty-one, and he’s rich!” (382-383), these words were said to Happy, Willy’s son who was the only one on stage at the time. In this quote Willy is referring to his deceased brother, Ben, who he claims went to Africa, struck diamond mines there and became rich. The theme this quote would be connected to is success. This quote is significant because part of it shows Willy’s regret for not following his older brother and thinking of the success and money he could’ve had, the money that would help give his family the life he wanted to give them. Another reason to its significance is

In my diary entry, I chose to write a letter from Biff to Willy. These are the characters of the Death of a Salesman by the author, Arthur Miller. I did this to show how Biff felt about his’s and his father’s belief. From what I have read in the play, it seems to me that Biff was living in an unhappy and unsuitable life in New York. As the author states in the book, Biff had tried to do whatever he can to please his dad, not because he was interested in the job.…

Authors use setting to set the mood and could have a menace effect on the plot and the characters. A negative setting allows the readers to connect to the characters and their behaviour. The setting sets the stage and builds the atmosphere to enhance emotions. The setting could be portrayed positively or negatively and Scott Fitzgerald and Arthur Miller both depict their novels to be illustrated negatively. Therefore, in The Great Gatsby Fitzgerald 's use of setting is negative and is emphasized through dysfunctional relationships and self destruction.…

During the play, an important discussion between Biff, Linda, and Happy occurs regarding the paternal alpha figure in the play, Willy. Prior to this discussion Willy displays himself as a hardworking, forgetful, and prided man. These traits begin to contradict each other which lead to this discussion about how Biff feels towards his father. There are many underlying factors that lead to why Willy has created this gossip between his kin, the concealment of the truth, and the solitude of Biff’s emotions. All of this can be scientifically traced back to the physiological impact of the Stock Market crash of 2008 and the stereotypes of its influence.…
