Death Is A Bad Thing To Die Analysis

Death is something you cannot avoid, ignore, or get rid of. Everything has to come to an end, even a person’s life. Death is something that everyone fears and it is avoided in todays society. Death is something that everyone will face sooner or later. I imagine that death is always waiting behind the door and you have the choice to open it. So the question is, should I be afraid of death? This is an important question to me because, what is going to happen to me once I die? Do I go to heaven or hell right after or are they not real? Thomas Nagel says “If death is the unequivocal and permanent end of our existence, the question arises whether it is a bad thing to die.” The reason why its such a difficult question to answer is because its something you do not want to think about. Nor does one really know what happens to you once you pass away. Some people think death is dreadful and other people have no objections towards death. People just hope that it is not an early or a painful death. Its because of the opportunities that you could be missing out on if your life was to get cut short. No one wants to die at and early age or have a painful death. It was my grandfathers time to leave. He lived a good 80 plus years and lived it to his fullest potential until he started to suffer. I don’t think people get sad by death, I think it’s the sudden shock that gets people afraid sad, and upset because its something that people do not expect. One second someone might be with their loved one and then the next that loved one can die. All the memories that you had with that one person will start rolling into your head and all you can think is, “What could have you done to make him live for one more day?” I am not saying that death can be scary but there is more to death than just being afraid of
