The play Romeo and Juliet, by William Shakespeare, is laced by death, anger, revenge and almost endless suffering and heartache. Two people falling in love, unaware that their families were connected in a terrible feud. The theme I am talking about is death and how it is connected by passion and violence. Death in Romeo and Juliet is connected by passion, which can be love or hate, violence and revenge. problem with this young love was that is was almost doomed right from the start because Romeo and Juliet’s families were involved in a terrible feud with each other. Romeo and Juliet being in love were responsible for many deaths in this love story. It caused the death of Mercutio, Tybalt, Paris, Lady Montague and tragically Romeo and Juliet.

Paris is a young count who is kinsman to the Prince. Paris is originally supposed to marry Juliet by choice of Lord Capulet, but since she is married to Romeo, hence she seeks Friar Lawrence for an idea. Friar's idea is to give Juliet a potion for her to take that will kill her for about a few days, so Romeo can get her when she is in her tomb when she awakes and they could run away together and also this idea caused more deaths including the lovely couple Romeo and Juliet. After the "death" of Juliet occurs, Romeo entered Juliet's tomb, and finds Paris there on guard. Paris tries to fight him, thinking Romeo is a criminal; he says "I do defy thy conjurations. /and apprehend thee for a felon."(V.iii.68-69). Romeo gives in and starts to fight Paris and after Romeo wins the battle, which has lead to his death, he cries "O, I am slain! If thou be merciful, /Open the tomb, lay me with Juliet."(V.iii.72-73).
