Death in Poe’s Writing
Edgar Allan Poe was a famous poet known for his dark style of writing. You may know him because of some of his famous poems like The Tell-Tale Heart, The Raven, and Alone. Within his writing he talked a lot about death and portrayed it in many ways. In the poems Annabel Lee, Incident in a Rose Garden, and The Raven death was shown differently and the poems were very diverse. For example in the Rose Garden death was a person while in Annabel Lee death was a cold wind. In the poem Annabel Lee the speaker and Annabel live in a kingdom by the sea. They were both children and they were so much in love that the angles envied them and took Annabel Lee. You could perceive death in two different ways one of them
