In this story “Death Constant beyond Love” by Gabriel G. Marquez explains about Senator Onesimo Sanchez who dies falling in love with a young lady, with only certain time to live. He only had 6 months and 11 days to live his life but chose to end it with an affair with Laura Farina who eventually gave no love back and had a padlock from her waist down by her father. Sanchez took one look at this young girl and falls in love but doesn’t want the public eye to see. When he does get the chance to be alone with Laura he learns he can’t love her because she has a padlock. When the public finds out that the Senator has been trying have a affair with Laura, he died with his name tarnished and a broken heart.

Senator Sanchez saw a girl and fell in love with her instantly, but was it real love. Laura Farina is the daughter to Nelson Farina, who begged the senator for a false green card so he can be beyond the reaches of the law. After his speech, the senator passed through the streets and walked into Nelson Farinas home and as they were chattering his lovely daughter walked out and then at that moment the senator knew he had to have her. That night Mr.Farina dressed up his daughter in the nest clothes and sent her to the senators home. He sent her as a gift for the exchange for the green card.
