I had never thought I had given guidance that had affected and led to the death of Romeo and Juliet. I beg of thee to understand my circumstance. I plea thy-highness, to suggest other alternatives other than banishment, because I didn’t mean to cause such tragedy. A punishment could be to disregard from creating any further medicines; withal the person who is to blame is the nurse, because she didn’t give useful advice to Juliet and didn’t warn Juliet of the outcomes that could transpire. She also tried to convince, and even pressured Juliet to marry Paris when Romeo had been exiled and was sent to Mantua. Therefore, I should be announced innocent.
I, Friar Laurence, who has been misunderstood for advocating Romeo and Juliet because I thought the two feuding families would ultimately unite and form an alliance and, because Juliet felt suicidal. Yet this plan/idea had been un-successful as I had been arrested for a cowardly act. Thus, I plea that this submission would be taken into fair and equal consideration, and I would like to thank thou for your time.
