I had a plan that was meant to unite the two feuding families, however, fortuitously it had failed and led to the death of Romeo and Juliet. This is due to being inadequate and inexperienced with these circumstances, which resulted in giving poor guidance and decisions to Romeo and Juliet. Thy highness, I Friar Laurence, beg of thee to consider thee as innocent, not guilty, with by explaining my view of the situation.
I had never thought I had given guidance that had affected and led to the death of Romeo and Juliet. For I have defied and have sinned that I had only given poor guidance, that I plea to the heavens for forgiveness. I beg of thee to understand my circumstance. I plea thy-highness, to suggest other alternatives other than banishment, because I didn’t mean to cause such tragedy. A punishment could be to disregard from creating any further medicines; withal the person who is to blame is the nurse, because she didn’t give useful advice to Juliet and didn’t warn Juliet of the outcomes that could transpire. She also tried to convince, and even pressured Juliet to marry Paris when Romeo had been exiled and was sent to Mantua. Therefore, I should be announced innocent.
