In the satirical novel Dealing With Dragon by Patricia C. Wrede, the main character, Cimorene, is not a proper princess. She is a brave and helpful girl who is a 16 year old and is a princess for Kazul. Cimorene was justified in ignoring the social norms of society, because he’s improper, she doesn't want to marry Therdil, and she doesn't look like a princess.
