Over 90% of deaf children are born to hearing parents and communicating is the key to their child’s advancements in life. They need to learn a visual or auditory language to communicate effectively, like sign language or spoken language. It is amazing in the you tube video how quickly a young toddler can pick up sign language. The 2 or 3 year old was kicking his dad’s seat and signing that there was an airplane outside and a helicopter, then he turns to his mother and signals he loves her, too cute! Some people that are hard of hearing often refer to themselves as deaf, but they either lost some of their hearing later in life or simple don’t hear well.
