Parenting skills of a Deaf adult to a hearing child is also challenging in its own way as well. There are many instances where the child will take advantage of the parents deafness and use it their advantage. There are also behavioral issues that will be struggling to handle since there is that lack of understanding that was mentioned earlier. The language benefit of being a CODA is that they get to be a part of the Deaf world becoming fluent in Sign Language. Usually they are also able to learn how to speak English at the same time. Sometimes learning English however is very difficult when younger. They can develop some speech issues due to not having the proper education and exposure while growing up in a non-speaking world.
