Deadpool, also known as Wade Wilson, is one of Marvel’s famous antiheroes. Artist Rob Liefeld and writer Fabian Nicieza created him, and his first appearance in comics was in The New Mutants issue number 98. Originally made to be a villain, in later issues he has now evolved into an antiheroic persona. Deadpool’s main power is his accelerated healing factor and physical prowess, both that allow him to be effective in combat. This healing ability originates from being experimented on by Dr. Killebrew for a program called Weapon X. It is mainly because of this experiment that a lot of Wade Wilson’s mental afflictions became exaggerated.…

A hero is someone who understands the responsibility that comes with his freedom. In class we were asked to read three stories The Crisis No. 1, Speech to the Second Virginia Convention, and The Life of Olaudah Equiano and from the stories I saw that freedom today is a lot different from freedom in those stories. In America today we take for granted our freedom unlike Thomas Paine, Patrick Henry, and Olaudan Equiano who fought for our freedom and did not take it for granted, if those three people saw how much people discriminate others they would be offended because there hard work did not change much, and Americans has lost their faith in God and more and more are losing their faith every single day. We as a country take for granted out liberty rather than the people who came to America and…

The first four issues of the “Deadpool Killogy” falls under the title “Deadpool Kills the Marvel Universe”, which is the main focus of this rhetorical analysis. This title is, for the most part, self explanatory in the basics of what happens in those four issues; Deadpool moves through the marvel universe killing every hero, villain and antihero. Deadpool’s psychotic break is caused by his realization that he is a comic book character with no true control over his actions. In absolute defiance of the fourth wall he rampages across the marvel universe in attempts to find the progenitors, aka the creators of the comic, and kill them making it possible for him to find freedom. The methods of displaying the havoc wreaked by deadpool was created…

Is Deadpool a villain or a superhero? Well, Deadpool must be a hero because he sometimes does the right thing for the right reasons, but his rash actions speak louder than his honest word. Deadpool is that one anti-hero that everyone questions whether if he is a villain or a hero. Deadpool is known as the mercenary with a mouth “because he is quite talkative, with long streams of dialogue, rambling, and vocal thoughts” (Dustcircle). Many authors make stories of Deadpool either being a good guy or a bad guy.…

Villains are an interesting bunch in that the same person can be seen as both minor/major, or helpful/dangerous. I guess the same could be said about heroes though. Chuck Klosterman, a best selling author, wrote an essay titled “Electric Funeral,” a chapter of I Wear the Black Hat: Grappling with Villains (Real and Imagined), which details villains of today-different types of technocrats. The three “villains” he mainly focuses on are Perez Hilton, Kim Dotcom, and Julian Assange, who each vary greatly on the spectrum of their acts. Hilton is a blogger who likes to post photoshopped pictures and articles, Dotcom created Megaupload, a website to post copyrighted material illegally, and Assange is the head creator of WikiLeaks.…

The majority of people have their own definition of a hero, my definition is, a hero is someone that fights for what they believe in, no matter the consequences. Like Beowulf for example, stood up for the people of Heorot when Grendel started to attack, and he also went after the dragon to protect his people. Another hero to me would be Boo Radley. Both Boo, and Beowulf fought for what they thought was right, and also changed how people thought of them.…

Deadpool (2016) is not the typical superhero film by any means, as the main character Deadpool doesn’t conform to the ideals of a superhero. He doesn’t want glory through his battles, shows emotions such as fear, and doesn’t act with integrity, as we see in other heroes. This unusual dynamic of a superhero makes for a much more interesting and surprising story than what we see in films as such as the Batman series and in Captain America. Deadpool is a new, refreshing type of hero that viewers surely hope to see more of in the…

The 2016 Deadpool movie chronicled the origin story of the infamous Merc with a Mouth…but how true did the silver screen version stay to its source material?
