In the 20th century, American foreign policy in Vietnam is on the top of my list. The United States war in Vietnam was a lost cause. The American’s did not even gain anything from it, but lost lives both American and Vietnamese. Truman decided to let France its claim in colonizing Vietnam in the hands of France, (727) instead of giving Vietnam the independence they sought since Roosevelt’s administration. That decision of Truman was motivated by two reasons. First, Truman hoped to get support from France in America’s cold war with the Communist East, as what they refer the Soviets.
