Dayshawn's Growing Up In Los Angeles

Dayshawn grows up in the streets of Los Angeles, California. He is living a hard life with his dad working 3 jobs and his mom trying to get a medical degree. All Dayshawn has are his group of friends. His group of friends are very small and consist of Shaniqua, Jamar, Andre, and Deandre. Each person in Dayshawn’s group is also having problems of their own growing up in Los Angeles. Dayshawn is only 5 years old.

Dayshawn had a difficult life in Los Angeles. Dayshawn didn’t have all the nice shoes and clothing people had in school. He also did not have a bike and a nice house. Dayshawn’s area did not have a park, nice roads, or even nice restaurants. He felt trapped at Los Angeles and could not get out. It got to the point where Dayshawn didn’t know who he was and where he belonged.

At that moment Dayshawn knew that his life was going to turn around for the better. When Dayshawn arrived to the airport, he was excited to get in and finally start his new life. Arriving to New York, Dayshawn went to his apartment ready to begin anew. School would only start in 2 weeks. Dayshawn was ready.

In his first day of school, Dayshawn is excited to start class. He goes to his teacher and meets a group of people. James, Jack, Mike, Michelle, and Chris are all part of this group. Dayshawn starts to only sit next to them in class, but in only a couple of minutes, Dayshawn looks like he is best friends with them. Time flew past and it is already lunch time.
