I gathered my data through three object-hiding tasks, and for these tasks I used a plastic, green Brachiosaurus – the size of a television remote control. The first task consisted of me showing each child the toy dinosaur and then hiding it under a blanket in front of the child. I performed the task to the ten month old first; she became fascinated by the toy creature and reached out for it when I presented it to her. I methodically placed the toy under the blanket in front of us, in which she picked up the blanket with one hand and grasped the toy with the other. The second child, twenty months of age, did the same thing without any…

Daycare When running a daycare for children two-years-old and under, many considerations must be made in order to provide the appropriate experiences to help promote their biological, cognitive and psychosocial development. One of my primary goals would be to maintain a group of staff members that I have ensured are reliable, extremely trustworthy and planned on working for me for at least a year or two. I would want to help maintain a constant environment for the zero to two-year-olds. Children who are two-years-old need very different care then one-year-olds or kids who are even younger. As they got closer to two and above, I would make sure they were being read to daily and being exposed to memory exercises, for example, identifying animals and basic shapes, while still being provide with an adequate amount of…

Child psychologists have learned that toddlers typically understand the following six basic concepts and can use them early in their communication: naming something, adressing someone, finding something, something gone, asking for more, and possessing something.
