All, or at least most, people possess a behavior that indicates how they are feeling at any given time. Having the ability to identify this behavior can significantly increase the likelihood of having a productive conversation with another person. While being able to identify an individual’s tell can help in trivial things, such as poker or business deals, it is also very useful when communicating with friends, loved ones, and partners. Being able to efficiently converse with another human being is an important ability to have. This skill encompasses many different abilities; not only do you have to understand what your companion is telling you, but you have to know how you feel about their professed position. Understanding how you feel about what another person says is important when going through the process of configuring a response. The process of responding is a skill that I personally had to work on; the following details my journey of gaining the confidence I needed to clearly present my stance in verbal and nonverbal conversations.
