The biggest attraction of the Alamo without a doubt is the church. Inside the church, you’ll walk through a hall of flags representing the different people who fought. Then, you walk into the main room which has antique knives and guns, some of the letters of Travis, and other historic relics. Further in there are side rooms. The reason I wanted to see the building is that the design is gorgeous. Originally the main church of the mission it follows the simple design of Texas structure, and yet has the fine detailing of a church in the pillars and arches. You walk in and you can imagine some of the work that was put into it. The reason that I was excited to see any and all artwork is that I love art that has a story. To further expand, a line is just a line to me, but a face shows a thousand stories. I have never personally enjoyed doing my own paintings or drawings simply because I never have a real story to tell. Art is something that should speak naturally, not be forced to.
