The Statues of David The Story of David and Goliath is a timeless story from I Samuel 17. The Philistine army had come against Israel and was ready for war. The two armies gathered for battle on opposite sides of a valley. A Philistine giant named Goliath that was over 9 feet tall mocked and challenged the Israelites for forty days. Everyone was terrified of him. David, a young shepherd boy heard of this giant and offered to fight him. He went with only a sling and a stone and came back victorious.
