Adopting the Creator Mindset
In an article in his teaching blog, Prof. David Mirman was talking about “Do you think like a Victim or a Creator?”. According to Skip Downing “a Creator is a person who consistently makes wise choices which create the results that they wish to achieve”, and “a Victim is someone who does not believe they can effect or control the things that happen to them in life”. According to my own thoughts, I want to think and act as a Creator rather than trying to blame every situation as a Victim. Professor David Mirman describes two students, one who is a Victim one who is a Creator in his blog and teaching. In a college, all students need textbooks, but two students does have no textbook on the first day. On the second week, the first student still does not have the textbooks, and she blamed the bookstore was sold out. And the second student, she used any way and found one online and bought it. Mirman calls the first student is a Victim, “seeking to find blame for negative situation”. And the other student is a Creator, “rather than seeking to lay blame for how the situation came to be. Now, I just want to try my best to learning and tell myself that “I will not give up” and “I can do it”. I want to win myself to succeed in life, I do not want to fail when I have not even tried and scared. I think that instead of blaming all the situations and circumstances like a Victim, why not think and solve like a Creator? I want myself as a Creator, not a Victim. As prof.
