George and Lydia think everything in that room was a little too real and think it is strange that they found their wallet and handkerchief in the playroom. David McClean, the psychologist, states in Bradbury's story on page 8 "One of the original uses of these nurseries was so that we could study the patterns left on the walls by the child's mind.... however, the room has become a channel toward destructive thoughts." These children are spoiled than most and that could also be the reason why they are feeling such hatred towards their parents, because they've always gotten everything they've wanted so they don't know what to do when someone tells them no. George even admits on page 8 of Bradbury's story "I've threatened them with closing the nursery until they did their homework." This is a completely reasonable explanation to shut off the room, but not for Wendy and Peter. If something doesn't go their way then there's point trying to reason. Now the kids are in hysterics over the playroom being turned off, and their father tells them that it's off forever and soon they'll leave this house forever
