Words that David Livingstone lived by were “Nothing earthly will make me give up my work in despair.” A true hero is someone who does not give up easily. Another way to describe a hero would be that they stand up for what they believe in without harming others in the process. These particular aspects of a hero stand out the most because if a person gave up as soon as something started getting tough there would be no one to look up to as a hard worker. When a person stands up for what they believe in while also not harming anyone, they are showing others that there is a way to state your opinion without offending or harming too many people so they are a person others can look up to. …show more content…
Even with coming from a family with not much to offer he always persevered with his schooling. Livingstone felt the need to explore Africa so he hiked across the entire continent without too much trouble. He even wrote a book following his journey titled Missionary Travels and Researches in South Africa. On his return to England, Livingstone was appointed with leading an expedition across South Africa. While the expedition did not turn out too well with the crew arguing a fair amount of the time, Livingstone still finished the expedition before returning home
