He visits one of his victims every day, caring for his bedsores just enough to keep them from getting infected and killing him. His patience is scary and disturbing. There John Doe manages to injure detective Mills and holds him at gun point but decides to let him live in order to complete his master plan. The commitment he shows is also disturbing. The first time we see John Doe aside from a chase scene with no face showing, is when he walks into the police station with his hands covered in blood to turn himself in. The name is used for identifying unknown body of the deceased and people who had a major infraction with the law and couldn’t be identified.
