His parents were named David Edward Beckham and Sandra Georgina. As a young child he was very interested in soccer because of his parents, they were huge Manchester United fans. In high school Beckham dropped out of playing high school soccer and moved away from home to play in Manchester United's elite training division. And it just two years as a 18 year old he made the club and very soon after he was a starter on the team
