David found love by doing what he loved most. David met his wife, Ann, by becoming a teacher of a physics. Which Ann she thought a family friend of hers would teach the course. Originally his chosen path was an elementary school teacher. David never felt the separation of skin color, but assuming white colleges wouldn't hire him. Therefore Blackwell apply for 105 jobs at historically black colleges. At first he took the position for the U.S. office of Price Administration of Baton Rouge, LA. This was a new environment for himself, with seeing an abundance of the same color. Then left to Clark Atlanta because of a higher dynamic of academics. After that being recognized from going to Howard before, got offered a job by Dudley Woodward. During the summer Blackwell worked summers at the RAND Corporation, while studying the game theory.
David’s achievements mainly comes from him furthering his education. First he earned his Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics in 1938. Second Mater of Arts in Mathematics in 1939.
