Plants are just like animals in which they need food and nutrients in order for them to maintain healthy in order to survive. Plants search for food and nutrients below ground and sometimes even above ground. The daughter plant is a plant I learned about that has seventy two hours to find food and nutrients before it end up dying. This vine like structure feeds off of other plants by finding the perfect plant to take the nutrients out of it to maintain alive. The plant grows in circles very slowly looking for a host to feed off of and every plant gives off a distinct smell. The wild tobacco plant is a plant that adapts to different situations in order to protect itself. The plant gives off a chemical we know as nicotine to poison an enemy. The plant also gives off chemical signals when being eaten by caterpillars because caterpillars are not affected by nicotine so easy. This different chemical named a trichome is given to the caterpillar when being eaten so that when the caterpillar eats it they give off a very bad smell that informs predators so that they can be eaten.
