Dating violence among adolescents is a major concern within schools. The teenage years can be an exciting yet a confusing time filled with self-discovery and dealing with new independence. During the teenage years, most teens begin to date, which can lead to either a healthy or unhealthy relationship. Nevertheless, there is a problem within today’s society relating to teen dating violence among adolescents in relationships. One in ten teenagers in New York City schools report experiencing physical or sexual violence in a dating relationship within the past year. (New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene.
