Hooking up is the way mostly younger generations meet people and instead of courting the other person they have sex and usually never talk again. The term "hooking up" can be linked back to the mid nineteen eighties (Bogle 2008). Hooking up is very prevalent on college campuses and that is where Bogle 's study takes place. However, kids must start learning that the “Internet is not a haven of privacy” (Coben 1). So, everything on posted can already be seen are all and maybe even seen by future employers, teachers, or dates. As a result, kids have to be extremely careful about what they post and parents should always be updated and aware of what their child is doing on the Internet. Another argument might be that it is illegal to listen to another person’s conversation, which is true, but only applies to people older than eighteen. Furthermore, it is important to remember that this isn’t the government listens, but that child’s own loving and caring parents, “Loving parents are doing the surveillance here, not faceless bureaucrats” (Coben 1).…

Dating Advice Assignment For this assignment, I choose an article about the “8 bad relationship habits you need to kick before getting married”. In this article, it was stating that these bad habits will ruin your relationship and will prompt you to not get married. It’s suggesting that the negative patterns are: expecting your partner to read your mind, trying to make your partner jealous, constantly asking if they love you, getting stuck in a boring routine, playing the blame game, checking your phone, threatening to leave, and grilling your partner where they were and with whom. In the article, it states that checking your phone constantly causes a disconnection between couples, so spend your time wisely with your partner.…

Check with your attorney or the courts in your state to determine the specific requirements for written relocation notifications. The last thing a custodial parent wants is to relocate and have to deal with a court battle from the noncustodial parent, simply because they didn’t give proper notice to the parent. If a custodial parent relocates without proper notice, they are essentially kidnapping the child, which will result in legal ramifications. Distance matters. Some states have stipulations on how far the custodial parent may move before requiring a written notice to the other parent.…

TRUSTING CHILDREN Many parents have thought about spying on their kids whether it’s on technology or trying to listen to their conversations with others. Mr. Harlan Coben has made an argument stating why you should and how you should be able to spy on your kids without them knowing. In my opinion I just recommend to give your kids trust so that they may also trust you with anything they need and with that comes less secrets for a parent to try to find out. With trusting your kids comes safe parenting and one will be able to show more respect for the young ones.…

As I got older, I realized that these teachable moments, as trivial as some are, were a part of life’s skill-set or tools that my parents wanted to instill in me. Looking back, I believe the ultimate goal was to teach me to become more aware of my surroundings and to trust my instincts in certain situations. Nowadays, when cyberbullying, online child predators, and identity theft are more serious…
