I’m the type of person to make sure I include pictures of my face, my smile, and maybe even a picture of me full body so they can see what I look like. I would talk about my hobbies, interests, favorite things, etc. I wouldn’t include where I work or go to school unless I started to get to know the person because something like a “Catfish” can

The 4th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals disagreed with both the District and eventually the Supreme Court. I have a dissenting opinion with the majority with the Supreme Court.…

Since the beginning of time, achieving success has always been a group effort. Whether it be building the Pyramids or the White House, nothing over the course of history has ever been completed by one person alone. There is always help, whether it be in the form of someone acting on another individual's behalf or supporting someone by sharing advice or lending an encouraging word. Into The Wild by Jon Krakauer is a work that reveals the tendency of people to fail at helping and supporting unique or unordinary individuals find a way to fit into a materialistic society that seemingly contradicts everything they stand for. It is through analyzing the reasons why Chris McCandless goes into the wild that we see the importance of having a support group and finding people to hold yourself accountable to.…

Susan Patton, a graduate of Princeton University and author of “Marry Smart” encourages women to find a life partner in college. She is challenged by news reporter Kelly Wallace. While Patton argues women should be spending 75% of their time in college finding a husband, Kelly rebuts this with her own argument. “I wondered if her delivery, and her words, are doing more to set modern women back” (Wallace). Adding to this, Kelly asks, “Haven’t we come a long way, baby, from the days when a woman’s only focus was marriage and motherhood?”…

In the articles “Three Cheers for the Nanny State,” “Ban the Ban!,” and “Soda’s a Problem but…”, all three authors present their arguments with facts, opinions, and counterclaims. However, one article presents itself better than the rest. I believe that the article “Soda’s a Problem, but...” was the most convincing article. Sarah Conly- the author who wrote “Three Cheers for the Nanny State”- argues that the soda restriction is a good idea because people would be stopped from making foolish decisions that they’ll pretty definitely regret.…

Maybe before technology became so advanced, the thought of finding your true love online might have seemed a bit absurd. Because of such technology, the children of today’s age may not be able to imagine.…

Question #1: Take a look at page 162, the "Becoming an Adult" statistics section at the top. On the left, there is a list of 5 markers of adulthood that have NOT changed for people aged 18-29 and the corresponding percentages of early adults who have not experienced each by the age of 30. Do you believe that these are in fact markers that should occur for early adults before the age of 30? Each person has a different background and circumstances so for some people all of these markers should occur before 30 in order to be considered an adult, or others like me might only believe a few of them are absolutely necessary in early adulthood. I do not agree with the idea that a person needs to have a child before the age of 30 in order to be considered an adult, having a baby should happen only when you feel you are ready to take on that responsibility and for some that might be sooner than others.…
