I'm mixing a bowl of brownie batter when I hear my ringtone go off. After wiping my hands, I grab my phone off of the counter and answer it. "Hello?" "Good afternoon, my Darling." Jasper greets. "Hey." I reply. "I hope I'm not interrupting anything." He says. "Oh, no. I'm just making brownies for the church's potluck tomorrow." I reply. "The meetings you go to?" He asks. "Yes." I answer. "What else do you have planned for today?" He asks. "Nothing really." I answer. "Would you like to go out for dinner tonight?" He asks. "Will you let me pay?" I ask. "Of course not." He answers with a playful tone. I sigh. He never lets me pay. He's kind of old school when it comes to dating. We've been dating for three …show more content…
"The big and little dippers." I answered with a chuckle. He laughs. "Do you?" I ask. "Unfortunately I do not. I never had time to stargaze as a child. I only recently became fascinated with the night sky." He answers. "We could learn together." I suggest. "That would be romantic, now wouldn't it?" He replies and kisses the side of my head. Marcus and I rarely did things like this. It was mainly when he wanted to spend the night together that he would butter me up using things like this. I'm a sucker for romantic settings and activities. Feeling Jasper's arm around me, listening to his heartbeat, the soft, gentle tone he uses when he speaks to me, the warm May air, all of it is perfect. "What's your favorite season?" He asks. "I like autumn. The leaves changing, it's finally cooling down, the smells of baked goods, the clothing, all of it." I answer. "What's yours?" "I enjoy winter. I rather enjoy the cold. Most people don't, but I do." He answers. "What's your favorite holiday?" I ask. He thinks for a moment. "I like Halloween." He answers. "The dressing up?" I …show more content…
"Me too. I have a sweet tooth for chocolate." He replies with a chuckle. "Did you ever go trick-or-treating as a kid?" I ask. "I did a couple times. Once I snuck out and went with a few friends. I got most of my candy taken away but it was worth it. The second time was after my father was put away. I took my sisters trick-or-treating and they loved it. My older sister didn't want to go but I threw a sheet over her and made her go as a ghost." He laughs. "She hated me while we were going house to house but when we got back with mountains of candy, she no longer resented me." "A ghost?" I ask with a chuckle. "My younger sister had a purple tutu so she dressed as a ballerina and I dressed as a cowboy. My older sister didn't want to come with us and when I finally convinced her to come, she didn't want to dress up. I found an old sheet, cut holes in it and threw it over her. She sighed dramatically and went along with our younger sister and I. It's one of my favorite memories." He

The problem with rejection in modern dating, and why men are doomed to fail without coaching. We live in a society where you can meet anyone in the world, and no one is getting out of their house. We have the opportunity to meet singles with the swipe on a phone in an instant, yet men find it cumbersome to actually meet that woman.…
