Date rape drugs are substances such as rohypnol, GHB, and ketamine. Date rape drugs are somehow unknowingly slipped to the victim usually through a drink. The effects of theses substances make the victim more compliant and less able to resist, and typically have the effect of memory loss. It is clear that a person who is under the influence of some substance is unable to give consent to sexual relations. Because theses drugs are not being properly dosed as they would be by a prescriber there is a dangerously high chance of an over does thus leading to…

Bonnie S. Fisher, the author of There is a Serious Problem with Sexual Assault on College Campuses, explained to us that “a sizeable proportion of undergraduate women (11.1%) have experienced sexual assault when they were incapacitated and unable to provide consent, but the large majority of these victims had not been given a drug without their knowledge prior to the assault” (Fisher).
