Next, VALIC's Consumer Affairs Department spoke to the client, Ana Taboada, and learned her identity had previously been stolen. The client stated she had fraudulent charges occurred on her Macy’s department store and other credit cards, and when she files her income tax she must authenticate herself to the IRS. Additionally, the client stated that an arrest had been made and the suspect was Dashiell Torralba. (Based on an internet search, in 2008 Dashiell Torralba, was sentenced to 3 years imprisonment for fraud and forgery by the Federal Court.
