Abstract
Doctor Rich Boehler the president and chief executive officer of St. Joseph Healthcare from Nausha New Hampshire presented a webinar where he discussed his experience as a chief medical officer of St. Joseph Medical Center in Towson Maryland and how he used medical staff performance dashboards to dramatically improve the outcomes of patient care while decreasing the length of stay and finally lowering costs to both the hospital and patients.

Joseph Hospital located in Towson Maryland and the Chief Medical Officer Doctor Boehler. The general surgeons and colorectal surgeons, and the clinical support staff, nurses, and surgical technicians. The key stakeholders in this case study are the patients as they ultimately benefited from the dashboard analysis that would later improve patient outcomes.
Analysis of the Impact of the Issue on the Macro-System Due to the results of the dashboard application studies there were joint departmental meetings in which both surgeon types discussed techniques that associated outcomes in a collaborative uncompetitive manner. Both surgeon types were enthusiastic to learn and assist each other throughout these meetings. The results of the analytics-based dialogue was that all surgeons, whether they were colorectal or general surgeons experienced a noticeable improvement in patient outcomes and how every surgeon enhanced overall care. In aggregate the combined clinical and financial outcomes equated to a length of stay reduction and a cost savings of $11,000 per care from the over all collaboration between the two surgical groups (Hamlin, 2015).

An effective dashboard will include data that medical professionals can react to data they can easily control. Dashboards in a focused group can show patient satisfaction that can be related to caregiver responsiveness, education provided, and level of pain relief achieved are some of the examples of how a dashboard can be implemented to improve the quality of care provided. In this case the measures of the dashboard focused on surgical procedures and patient post surgical care that lead to improved outcomes and a decrease in cost per patient. Comparing multiple measures often provide new insights into performance (Porter-O 'Grady & Malloch, 2013).
Solutions to the Issue The use of medical dashboards between disciplines have many implications as it gives multiple perspectives of a diverse set of disciplines, to help teams tackle complex problems that will lead to increase patient satisfaction and outcomes. Clinical expertise and coordination combined with clinical analysis results obtained from medical dashboards increase patient outcomes while reducing the overhead cost to the patient and the hospitals and agencies.
