I think most organizations use the dashboard because areas of opportunities can been seen easily, just like you mentioned. My clinical site also uses dashboard to display outcome measures. It seems that the CNLs at my clinical site and yours are very involved in monitoring health care outcomes. My preceptor and your preceptor can easily recognize potential opportunities for improvement. CNLs must have the knoledge and skills to be able to diagnose microsystem problems (McKeon, et al., 2009). Nursing Microsystem Assessment, Microsystem Leadership Activity Log, and Microsystem Safety Assessment are suggested diagnostic tools that CNLs can utilize to identify gaps in the microsystem level (McKeon, et al., 2009).
