Darwin's Suicide Research Paper

Suicide refers to the act of an individual killing himself or herself intentionally or voluntarily. In 1897, a French sociologist named Emile published a book in the form of a case study of suicide. Durkheim's primary goal was to explore the reasons that make people want to commit suicide and the issues in their lives that may encourage them to do this. At the outset, he hypothesized that the factors that were likely to influence the findings of his study included marital, economic, and issues related to the military. In the end, he elucidated four types of suicide.
The first type of suicide is called egoistic. It occurs in situations of a very low degree of social integration. People who engage in this type of suicide feel that that they do not belong to the community. However, his findings and ideas went unpublished for 21 years. Many scholars have sought to find answers to the lingering question of why he waited for such a long time. There are who believe that Darwin was gathering scientific evidence before presenting it to the general public. On the other hand, some postulate that Darwin's life of bereavement enhanced his later work. I find the second argument to be very convincing.
Darwin's wife was a devout Christian. Her husband's lack of faith upset her to a great extent. The family lost many of their children. However, the death of his eldest daughter Annie gave him insight into the mechanisms of evolution. It also helped his wife to come to terms with the kind of work that her husband did.
