Research can support that the relative Two-toed sloth is closely related to the Ground sloth through DNA tests from fossils of the Giant Ground sloths, but also can be proven as of the common behavioural acts. Both species walk along the ground and if the two-toed sloth evolved from the ground sloth then its most likely that the three-toed sloth also evolved from this same family tree.
