The creation of the world and how we got here on planet Earth has been an ongoing debate for centuries. The clashing of heads between naturalists who are described as people who believe the Earth was created due to evolution and creationism which is defined as Christians who believe that God created the world. For naturalists, science is always the answer for all questions of creation while for creationists a higher presence is responsible. Naturalism and Creationism theories both have an abundance of evidence to back up what each believe in, but what we don’t know or have any signs of is the afterlife and if it is based off what we believe in. Naturalism comes from a man named Charles Darwin’s theory of evolution. “Darwinian evolution is accepted by the great majority of scientists as the method by which the diversity of earth’s organisms, including humans, evolved” (Bradt 1). This theory by Charles Darwin is called Darwinism. Darwinism can be defined as all organisms that rise up and develop through natural selection of tiny, inherited changes or adaptations that increase the organism’s chances to create offspring and survive. All animals are said to be Darwinism species because each evolve and live out the theory of natural selection. All species are said to carry out three common characteristics, “(1) the shuffling of the genetic package, (2) interactions between individuals competing for scarce resources, and (3) the power of natural selection to prune out the weak and unadapted” (Broom 3). Naturalists believe us, humans, grew from the tiniest, simplest of cells and those cells adapted to the environment to reproduce more cells like it. Therefore, “Over time, all living things supposedly arose from those simple and randomly collected natural chemicals, with those evermore complex processes arising randomly and without intelligent design” (Bush III 1). From this belief, there is no mention or sign of any higher presence being responsible for the creation of animals and human beings.
