Everyone has a little bit of both the hero and the villain in them but, if I were offered the role of the villain or the hero in a movie, I would definitely take the role of the villain. Villains are some of the most complicated creations in cinema so it would be an honor to play one. For me, it is about depth of character and frankly, those tend to be the roles of the villains. The role of the villain is also more challenging, and I’m always up for a challenge. A hero’s motivations are often lucid and have no subtext but with a really thought out villain, their ambiguity and muddled intentions is what makes them so enthralling. For example, Darth Vader is a villain who truly struggled with his morals and fell to the dark side. Anakin Skywalker was not always a villain. But in several cases, the villain can also be heroes in a different light. Spider Man was casted as the hero of the movie, but was a villain to the police force. On top of that, Spider Man and the police force had a bigger villain over all to deal with. The hero tends to think that their way is always right, and the only way to make the city better is with their help.
