Black Lives Matter is an organization founded in 2013 that soon became a social media trend and a hashtag resonated on social media. #BlackLivesMatter developed throughout 2013 and 2014, it was utilized as a platform and organizing tool. Other groups, organizations, and individuals used it to amplify anti-Black racism across the country, in all the ways it showed up., Tanisha Anderson, Tamir Rice, Walter Scott, Mya Hall, and Sandra Bland these names are inherently important, they were considered victims of police brutality. The space that #Black Lives Matter held and continues to hold helped thrust the conversation around the state sanctioned violence they faced.
