Darlene Mathis- Gardner, founder of Systems Design Inc. was sued and sentenced to prison for 18 month and ordered to pay $389,738 to the Immigration and Customs Enforcement. She provided false information in order to obtain a $1.3 million contract to help renovate a federal building. She sought to obtain a contract to work on the building. But, a deferral prosecutor said the district resident provided the federal government with false information and documents that misrepresented her company’s background and qualification to do the work. Also, Mathis presented invoices that overstated the number of hours that her firm had worked. She pleaded guilty. I do think that the lawsuit fulfills the 5 elements of fraud. There was a false representation;
